PHYSIOTHERAPY & CLINICAL PILATES STUDIO LOCATED ON THE NORTHERN BEACHES OF SYDNEY
** WE HAVE MOVED!! Our studio is now located at: 1103 (Q1, Level 1), 4 Daydream St, Warriewood, NSW, 2102. **
EQUIPMENT-BASED GROUP SESSIONS
Our physiotherapists develop individualised programs to suit your body, rather than the “one size fits all approach”. Even in a group setting our sessions are targeted to each person, and are closely supervised by our qualified instructors.
We use a variety of traditional Physiotherapy & Pilates equipment such as the Reformer, Trapeze Table & Wunda Chair. This specialised equipment adds resistance to exercises, works your muscles through a large controlled range of motion, and assists you to stretch and lengthen different areas of your body.
Our additional pieces of newly developed equipment include the CoreAlign® and SurfSet®. The CoreAlign® was designed by physiotherapist Jonathan Hoffman, and emphasises an upright posture while focusing on improving balance, core stability and functional movement. The SurfSet® is comprised of a surfboard on top of a base with three inflated balls and elastic cord. This exciting and fun piece of equipment helps to develop your core strength and balance, with the added bonus of being able to allow you to practice the essential movements and techniques of surfing, whether you are a surfer or not!
A FOCUS ON CORE STRENGTH
Stronger core muscles will help relieve your pain, improve your posture, and enhance your sporting performance. A correctly functioning core is critical to help prevent excessive loading & forces going into your joints and spine, which can cause degeneration (wear & tear) within your body.
INJURY MANAGEMENT & PREVENTION
We assess your whole body and target your exercises to address any imbalances and weaknesses. Our focus is on formulating strong foundations of movement and correcting muscle recruitment patterns in order to prevent or lessen the chance of injury, pain and dysfunction.
IMPROVEMENTS IN FLEXIBILITY & A RELIEF FROM STIFFNESS
Gain more mobility and feel the freedom of just being able to move your body properly. Flexibility tends to become worse with age and due to our increasingly sedentary lifestyles. Without adequate flexibility, daily activities can become more difficult to perform, and over time we create body movements and posture habits that can lead to reduced mobility of joints, inadequate muscle length and compromised body positions. Improving flexibility will help you stop feeling so stiff and tight day to day, while also lessening pain and injury.
PREGNANCY PREPARATION & RECOVERY
For many women during pregnancy and for recovery post-birth, it is important to follow a specific exercise program tailored to your individual needs. Our physiotherapists & Clinical Pilates instructors can ensure that you are switching on your core muscles, including your Pelvic Floor, correctly. We can also target your program to address any weaknesses or imbalances caused or exacerbated by pregnancy and birth, such as around your pelvis and spine, and can work on improving any pain in these areas.
POSTURE, POSTURE, POSTURE
Over time, your muscles adapt to whichever position you adopt the most frequently. If this is a slumped posture, your core muscles and spinal extensor muscles can weaken, your neck and chest muscles tighten, your back stiffens up and you can lose flexibility in & around your hips. This imbalance can lead to pain, as well as an inefficiency in muscle use and movement patterns, consequently resulting in problems with your daily activities or sports. We can help you reverse that hunched position you adopt every day, and then witness how this can improve your back, neck and shoulder pain.
